A while back I did an article about dating on a budget. That article went gangbusters. A lot of my readers from that article were from Texas and California. I thought it would be awesome If I wrote some short articles that talked about dating on a budget in some specific cities. The first city in this series is my hometown of Houston. Here are some cool date ideas that won’t break your budget in the bayou city.
Houston is a great city for budget dating. Houston’s low cost of living means that food and drink are relatively cheap. A $2-3 beer in Houston would run you $4-6 in Los angeles. But food and drink is not the only way to date. Here are some ideas found on www.ArtsHound.com that will add some pizazz to your love life.
Go to the Theater in Houston
There are many fantastic venues for theater all across Houston. You might have heard some of the names from time to time Miller, Worthem, Hobby but there are many more that you might not have heard of. Check out the Houston Art Alliances’ website www.ArtsHound.com to find cool upcoming plays and events.
I found the following cool plays on ArtsHound.com
This classic work of shakespeare is one of my favorite. This play is filled with treachery deceit and some pretty creepy witches. You can cat the play at the Pearl Theater this Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday. Ticket price for this event is $15.00 for adults. Visit the Pearl Theater website for more information
So the drama of Macbeth might not be your thing. Thats okay because there is Max!! Beta’s own Improv Troupe! This is Houston’s only improve troupe to have a weekly performance. For just $6.00 per adult you can laugh the night away in the Beta Theater every Thursday night at 9pm. 2420 Pierce St. Houston, TX 77003

Check out some Dance in Houston
Dance is a big deal for my future wife. Perhaps a perfect date for you or your partner would mean watching or participating in this rhythmic fun.
FLY is definitely not your average dance performance. This high energy Hip Hop power groupe will turn heads. but don’t forget to get your tickets pre sale for $15.00. With performances this Friday and Saturday there is not a moment to lose. Here is what ArtsHound.com had to say about FLY. “A leader in dance, FLY’s style is original, elegant, high energy, comedic and appropriate for ALL ages. In typical FLY fashion, our music selection will range from the likes of Stravinsky to Earth, Wind & Fire.”
Okay not all dance has to be balet. Check this event out. Every Wednesday from now until November 18 Discovery Green Park is hosting Circus Arts. “Circus Arts will consist of ground arts and ground acrobatics such as, contortion/flexibility, Low Tight wire, Partner acrobatics, juggling and hand balancing.” -ArtsHound.com This free event sounds like a prity cool date.
